- 1959-1963 Work included in numerous exhibitions throughout Europe and Asia.
- 1963 Fotokina Cologne 10th Anniversary Photography Exhibition. Heide was one of fourteen young German Photographers asked to exhibit their work.
- 1983 Churches and Churchmen of Canberra Commissioned by the National Library of Australia. The resulting work was exhibited in the Library, and led to Heide winning the Australian Institute of Professional Photography (AIPP), 1984 Portrait Photographer of the Year Award
- 1984 Portrait of an Industry Sponsored by Ilford, Heide travelled extensively throughout Australia, photographing 52 of her colleagues. The exhibition was launched at the National Library in Canberra, and was shown later in every state in Australia.
- 1987 The Tradesmen of Fyshwick Portraits of workers from the industrial suburb of Fyshwick.
- 1988 Black Australians Parliament House in Canberra. This was the result of five months living with the Tiwi people of Bathurst and Melville Islands, and was the first exhibition to be held in the new Parliament House. Black Australians was later exhibited in Sydney, Darwin and Alice Springs.
- 1990 Because beauty is timeless Portraits of famous women in sheets held at The National Press Club, and later at the Hyatt Hotel Canberra. Because of the high profile of many of the sitters, the exhibition received massive media coverage, including the Ray Martin show.
- 1992 The Canberra Raiders. Launched at the National Press Club. The aim was to raise money for the local Rugby League Club through the sale of posters of the club's six internationals.
- 1992 Looking Back Retrospective exhibition of Heide's work, launched at the National Convention Centre Canberra, by Lord Patrick Litchfield.
- 1993 Shooting at the Moon - Pictures of Cambodia, sponsored by Malaysian Airlines, Kodak and AIDAB. Exhibition at the Sydney Town Hall and the Old Parliament House Canberra.
- 1994 The Canberrans - A Vintage Selection A collection of black & white portraits of many of Canberra's most eminant elder citizens. It was exhibited at the ACT Legislative Assembly & launched by the Chief Minister of the ACT.
- 1995 Germany Revisited Launched at the High Court of Australia by Sen Gareth Evans; consisting of 90 photographs of Germany, resulting from two visits to Germany in 1994, commissioned by the German Government. The collection was later exhibited at the Goethe Institute in Sydney, where it was launched by ex premier Neville Wran, and at the Victorian Art Centre. During 1997 and 1998, the exhibition travelled Australia.
- 1996 The Pegasus Story Launched by MP John Langmore at the Canberra Theatre in aid of Pegasus, these photographs recorded both staff and students at this riding school for the disabled.
- 1996 Watermarks At Cuppacumbalong Gallery, an exhibition of images featuring water scenes, was launched by Ms Anita Keating.
- 1997 Of tears, laughter and hope Portraits of twenty two women who had suffered from breast cancer and were members of Bosom Buddies. The exhibition travelled throughout the ACT and Sydney.
- 2004 Aust Photography 1928-2004 Josef Lebovic Gallery Sydney - Directors choice. Exhibition of works by 25 photographers.
- 2004 Black is... Post Office Gallery Bodalla. Tiwi Images 1987-1994.
