about the collections The collections in my gallery have accrued over many years. Some are the result of assignments, such as the speakers at the National Press Club in Canberra from 1985 to 1997. Many of the images in the Canberra Collection have appeared in the four books on Canberra which I published between 1983 and 1999. Some Noted Australians were photographed on assignment, some as part of an ongoing personal project. The images, regardless of which collection they belong to, were shot on either negative or transparency film, processed in the traditional way, and are now held on file. Most have also been scanned as digital files but the integrity of the original photograph has been retained. Some traditionally printed images remain, usually as Vintage Prints which are more highly valued because of their increasing scarcity. Today, everything is digitally printed onto archival fine art paper. In my opinion, these digital prints are at least as good as anything I was able to achieve in my traditional darkroom; and they have better archival qualities. Image classification. Images are classified as 'Vintage Prints' or 'Gallery Prints'. Vintage Prints are printed in the same period that the photographs are taken; Gallery prints are usually printed at a later time. Both are however, printed to the same exacting standard. Prints. Every print in my gallery has been photographed and printed by myself; each is signed and includes the date the photograph was taken, the date it was printed, and is presented matted, ready for framing. Prices for individual prints differ; gallery prints start at $395 with freight & postage being quoted separately. Purchases. If you are interested in purchasing an image, a collection portfolio, or an entire collection, please contact me to arrange a meeting, or to send you a catalogue or CD of specific images. |
