Hobbs Point |
about Hobbs Point Hobbs Point is a 3.3 hectare property, occupying a peninsula at the western end of Wagonga Inlet. It is 5 kilometres from Narooma by boat, or 9 kilometres if you prefer to travel by car. The forest in which it is situated extends more or less continuously to the Snowy Mountains in the west, into Victoria in the south, and northwards to the Southern Highlands. Wagonga Inlet has been closed to commercial fishing for many years, so the fishing is excellent, as are the local oysters. We don't hear passing cars, just passing oyster fishermen's punts, and the sounds of nature. The variety of the birdlife here is astounding, with birds of the forest vying for attention with seabirds and the waders in the mangroves. The climate can be described as mediterranean: our closeness to the water ensures that frost is virtually unheard of. Hobbs Point is truly a photographer's dream, but if you want even more variety, you only have to visit Narooma, one of the prettiest towns on the east coast. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
