noted australians
I have been fortunate to have photographed many outstanding
Australians. This collection is a who's who of Australian
high achievers over a thirty year period.

Sponsored by Ilford in 1984, I travelled Australia, photographing leading
photographers. " Portrait of an Industry" was
launched at the National Library in
Canberra, and later exhibited in every state in Australia. I have been adding photographers to this collection ever since. |
|
national press club speakers
From
1984 to 1996 I was the official photographer for the
National Press Club in Canberra. I met and photographed some
of Australia's, indeed, some of the worlds most
charismatic speakers and leaders.

women in sheets
Originally called "Because beauty is timeless" but dubbed by the media "women in sheets",
the exhibition
was launched at The National Press Club in Canberra by Bryce Courtney in 1990 and was exhibited later at numerous other
locations. The exhibition received international multi-media coverage. |
churchmen
I was commissioned by the National Library of Australia to photograph Canberra's churches and churchmen in 1983. The collection was exhibited in the Library,
and led to me winning the Australian Institute of Professional Photography 1984 Portrait Photographer of the Year Award |
tradesmen
In
1987 we put up posters all over Fyshwick, a Canberra suburb,
saying "Wanted Dead or Alive, tradesmen to be photographed
for an exhibition". My studio was swamped with tradesmen
carrying the tools of their trade. |

|
canberrans
In 1994 an exhibition, "The Canberrans A Vintage Selection"
was launched at the ACT Legislative Assembly. It featured
some of Canberra's favourite, and best known senior
citizens.
|
the canberra raiders
Launched
at the Press Club, this was a fund raising venture for
the beleaguered local Rugby League Club. The Canberra Times
reported; "it's a supporters dream and a parent's nightmare
- a scantily clad Raider in every room... " The resulting posters
sold out; mainly to women. |
tiwi
Many of my photographs of the Tiwi People are portraits;
over a hundred of them are already on this site, but 700 images appeared in my
two Tiwi books, and there are many more unpublished |
